Thanks for making Make Music Day a big success!
"I think we delight to praise what we enjoy because the praise not merely expresses but completes the enjoyment... the delight is incomplete till it is expressed." - C. S. Lewis
Murfreesboro's Make Music Day celebration at Old Fort Park on Tuesday evening, June 21, 2016 was a beautiful moment of creativity and community. A perfect mix of folks of all ages and all walks of life from our city gathered together as the sun set on the longest day day of the year and spontaneously created some truly amazing music. Some of it was high energy, revved up and rockin', some of it was more mellow, soothing and serene. All of it was right there in the moment, communicative, inspired, and full of joy.
Special thanks to Bracken Mayo at the Murfreesboro Pulse for suggesting and then promoting the occasion. Read the Pulse, people! It is a great asset to our wonderful city. Thanks also to the Drum Disciples for all their hard work and rhythmic support. And big thanks to EVERYONE who showed up and contributed their beats, their rhythms, their drums, and their enthusiastic participation. We got together Tuesday night and had a great time!!
Come hang with Everybody Drum Some at 10am Saturdays on W. Main between Concert Musical Supply and the Alley during the Farmers' Market. And please make plans to attend the Friday Night Live concert with CJ Vaughn on August 5, where we will have the rhythms rolling once again.
See you there... Come Drum Some!
