We are thrilled to announce our next community rhythm event! To celebrate the first day of Spring, Everybody Drum Some and the Murfreesboro Pulse will be hosting an open-to-the-public, all-hands-on, everyone-is-welcome drum circle from 6-8pm on Wednesday, March 22 at Mayday brewery (located at 521 Old Salem Rd, next door to Experience Community Church in the 'Boro).
When the weather starts getting nice and all the trees are turning green again, we say it's a good time to break out the drums and make some music with our friends and neighbors. Our aim is to provide a time when our community can come together and join our various individual rhythms into one song.
Come on out and make some music with us at Mayday on Wednesday, March 22. No cover charge (but donations are welcome). No experience or expertise required. Instruments will be provided. Come on out and Drum Some!
We had such a good time together last Tuesday night at our Make Music Day celebration at Old Fort Park, we'd like to extend an invitation to you all to join Everybody Drum Some this Saturday, July 2 on W. Main next to Concert Musical Supply and The Alley. At 10am we will roll out the drums and rock out the rhythms and make some more music together during the downtown Farmers' Market, right here in the 'Boro. You're invited to come listen, clap along, or jump in and Drum Some!
Instruments are provided, and no experience is required. Come explore the joys and the benefits of drumming with others in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Group drumming relaxes the body, refreshes the mind, and releases the joy in folks of all ages and stages of life. Ross Lester and his crew make it easy for you join in and give it a try.
Come celebrate this Independence Day weekend with Everybody Drum Some on W. Main!
"I think we delight to praise what we enjoy because the praise not merely expresses but completes the enjoyment... the delight is incomplete till it is expressed." - C. S. Lewis
Murfreesboro's Make Music Day celebration at Old Fort Park on Tuesday evening, June 21, 2016 was a beautiful moment of creativity and community. A perfect mix of folks of all ages and all walks of life from our city gathered together as the sun set on the longest day day of the year and spontaneously created some truly amazing music. Some of it was high energy, revved up and rockin', some of it was more mellow, soothing and serene. All of it was right there in the moment, communicative, inspired, and full of joy.
Special thanks to Bracken Mayo at the Murfreesboro Pulse for suggesting and then promoting the occasion. Read the Pulse, people! It is a great asset to our wonderful city. Thanks also to the Drum Disciples for all their hard work and rhythmic support. And big thanks to EVERYONE who showed up and contributed their beats, their rhythms, their drums, and their enthusiastic participation. We got together Tuesday night and had a great time!!
Come hang with Everybody Drum Some at 10am Saturdays on W. Main between Concert Musical Supply and the Alley during the Farmers' Market. And please make plans to attend the Friday Night Live concert with CJ Vaughn on August 5, where we will have the rhythms rolling once again.
