Drums at Earth Day in the 'Boro
Check it out!!
Middle Tennessee Electric is hosting its annual Earth Day event on the Square in Murfreesboro on Saturday April 25 from 10am-2pm. There will be all kinds of great music throughout the day, but you will not want to miss the amazing rhythms going on at 1pm. The Creative Rhythm Percussion Team and The Drum Disciples will make a joyful noise together at that time, presented by Everybody Drum Some.
Once these two fine groups get the air full of drums and rhythms, we will pass out some extra chairs and instruments and invite anyone/everyone from the crowd to join us for some Drum Circle fun.
Drum circles and recreational music-making are on the rise in the U.S. in the 21st century as people in our society are recognizing benefits that drumming provides. Since ancient times, people have used drums and rhythms for celebrations and community fellowship. Recently clinical scientific studies have shown that group drumming relieves stress, boosts immune system function, and improves mood states for a wide variety of populations. Besides all that, it's a lot of FUN!
So please come and experience this good stuff for yourself on Saturday April 25 at 1pm.
We are delighted to be hosting some community music-making, and would love for you to join us. The Earth Day event is a great occasion to celebrate God's creation, and we will do so by rocking the rhythms on the Square in Murfreesboro... See you there!!
